Unhappy

I'm unable to sleep. I'm feeling depressed. I'm trying so hard to keep positive in my weight loss endavours. I don't want to take anything to help me fall asleep, but I know I need sleep and it's hard to shut down and just do it. Something is bothering me I suppose... I have a good friend who is a real life supporter, but lately she's been going through things that I can't help her with and I feel selfish because I'm needing her there for me and my problems... She's going through the unimaginable with DCF, trying to sober up, and raising a 5 year old. I wish she would call me back or try to get in touch with me somehow cause I miss her and it hurts not being able to vent to her, or hear her vent to me. Can someone please remind me that it's not all about me and my problems?

We all have our challenges...our struggles...our hangups. The thing is, what are WE going to do to change it? You have an opportunity to CHANGE what you're struggling with, and you're doing a great job! I think you need to really deal with the heart of whatever your issue is. Sometimes, when the heart of the issue hasn't been dealt with, it spills over into every aspect of our lives and consumes us. If your weight is your struggle...start dealing with that, just as you are. You've identified it and you're taking steps to live a healthy lifestyle. With your friend...people handle their issues differently. She will contact you when she's ready, but you won't be able to help her until you are helping yourself by dealing with your issues. You should contact her, leave a message, let her know you will be there whenever she needs you! She will come back around. Keep her in your thoughts as you work toward YOUR goals.
